About Pacific Crest Equestrian Academy

Where Riders Begin. Where Champions Grow.

Pacific Crest Equestrian Academy was created around a simple belief: great riders are developed, not born.

We believe riding is about far more than time in the saddle. It is about learning to communicate with a horse, developing confidence and independence, understanding how to care for your partner, and building skills that continue to grow with every ride.

At PCEA, our goal is to create confident riders and safe, capable horses through thoughtful instruction, strong horsemanship, and a supportive community.

Our Philosophy

At Pacific Crest Equestrian Academy, we believe great riders are developed through confidence, horsemanship, independence, safety, and consistent progression. Riding is about more than simply sitting on a horse, we want our riders to understand how horses think, communicate effectively, and develop the skills to become capable, thoughtful horsepeople.

We believe a strong foundation is the most important part of a rider's development. Riders learn balance, control, communication, and safe horse handling before moving on to more advanced skills. We want every rider to understand not only how to do something, but why they're doing it.

Our goal is to create an environment where riders feel comfortable learning, asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves. Progress looks different for every rider, and we meet each student where they are while helping them work toward their individual goals.

Growing Together

Our program is designed to grow with each rider. A beginner may start by learning the basics of grooming, tacking, steering, and balance, while a more experienced rider may be working toward competition, refining their technique, or exploring a new discipline. Wherever a rider begins, there should always be a clear next step.

We also believe that riders and horses grow together. Our horses are partners in the learning process, and their physical and mental well-being is central to our program. We strive to develop horses that are safe, confident, educated, and enjoyable to work with, while teaching riders to recognize and respect what their horse is communicating.

Ultimately, we want our riders to leave PCEA with more than improved riding skills. We want them to become confident, independent, and knowledgeable horsepeople who understand that good horsemanship is built on patience, consistency, respect, and a willingness to keep learning.
